Pin Connections to Cross Cut Saws

McMaster-Carr is referenced in USFS publication "New Tools for Old Saws" ( pdf05232815dpi300.pdf on pages 14 and 15 in the upper right hand conner), as providing a rivet that may be used in pin type saw connections. The McMaster-Carr part number is "9733A685" and McMaster-Carr provide two drawings of this Round Head steel rivet:
- This is a 2D drawing of the steel rivet as a PDF file.
- This is a 3D drawing of the steel rivet as a PDF file. Sometimes anti-virus software will block this file be be blocked from being displayed.
- This is an older set of McMaster-Carr catalog pages. The most recent pages from their catalog did not copy out nicely. Note that the prices, etc., are over 16 years old and may be out of date.
Note that the pin diameter and length usually used with supplemental handles are both fullsize. (I have currently lost my McMaster-Carr part number for a recommended pin.)
